And the hits just keep on comin'...

Kevin Garnett named NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

It's okay, while I know Shane is truly DPOY, I was resigned to the voters giving it to KG as a consolation prize for not naming him MVP... I get it.

What makes no sense to me? Shane only finished THIRD!!

Behind Marcus Camby!??!?!?!?!

Marcus Camby, he of the team that is universally known for playing NO defense. Ask Kobe and the Lakers how much defensive resistance they got from Denver on Sunday. Yes, I know Camby won last year... but there is no way he should get more votes than Shane. Ridiculous.

Apparently Shane plays for Boston as well... At least the link says so

You'd think the voters would look and realize that the Nuggets don't play D. How can the runner-up DPOY come from a team that would allow 200 points a game if possible?

I'm surprised Bruce Bowen didn't finish 2nd... I thought that kicking players in the face and raping players on the court (with the officials permission, of course) was a successful defensive tactic, since Bowen's been around for so long. It's definitely not his shooting that keeps him in the league.

Don't you guys get it? The rest of the nation laughs at the Rockets.

They are easily the weakest team in the playoffs.

I love watching you guys cry. Great entertainment.

Camby does suck. He has the worst looking jumper in the league. He's almost as shitty as Kenyon Martin. Or maybe it is the other way around.

I know it's fun to talk about how bad the Nuggets are at defense, but efficiency wise, they were in the top third of the league, and were in the top five for much of the first part of the season.

Camby is not a great on ball defender, but is an excellent rebounder and shot blocker. I think Shane deserved it more than Camby, but certainly not more than KG. KG is a beast on the ball and off. He completely transformed the defense on that team.

I think Tom Thibodeau had more to do with the celtics defensive improvement than KG.

By making Garnett DPOY you're essentially giving him an award for convincing his teammates to play D.
