Rockets vs. Bucks, a Win is a Win

The Rockets took on the Bucks tonight, winning 91-83, mostly because Tracy McGrady could only miss when he spotted up. In the flow of the game his jumper was unstoppable. He was 14-27 for 33 points and he added 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Solid game for Tracy, his jumper was on fire. I do fear that his next game it won't be and he'll keep shooting it though. Note to Tracy, if you miss your first 2-3 shots on Monday, please drive to the hoop, otherwise keep shooting until the fire goes out. I'm not sure if anyone else really had a good game. I guess Bonzi did, he had 10 points and 7 rebounds, and all of them seemed to come at necessary points in the game.

For the Bucks, Andrew Bogut played fantatically. I still don't like him though, he has to gain edges by hooking and flopping which I hate, but he did both to perfection tonight. He played decent defense on Yao, but it was more Yao having an off night than Bogut shutting him down. But I'll give credit where credit is due, he played better D on Yao than anyone has all season, so that's a pretty good deal.

The Rockets won by 8 and had the Bucks not cut there turnovers from an average of 15 down to 5 it may have been worse. We didn't play particularly well, but with Micheal Redd sitting we really didn't have to. Even with one of Yao's worst games of the season (still a triple double) the Rockets kept building 8-10 point leads, letting the Bucks back and then building it back up. They closed the game out pretty well, it would have been more like a 12 point win if Bobby Simmons didn't decide to catch fire from behind the line hitting 3 of 3 with in the last 44 seconds of the game.

Good game Tracy, and the rest of the Rockets, thanks for not playing terrible.

Next up: Minnesota Timberwolves at 7PM CST Monday February 4th. The Wolves are now 10-36 on the season, but have won 5 of their last 7. In the last meeting the Rockets cruised to a 31 point victory with Dave and I in attendance. I'm not going to Minnesota in February, so they'll have to do it without us this time. Since that game the T-Wolves have beaten Golden State, Phoenix, New Jersey, Chicago and the LA Clippers. Of note for the game: Al Jefferson has taken my shit talking seriously (I like to believe I'm thaht important) and is averaging 25 ppints, 13 rebounds and 1.6 blocks a game.

Rockets are at 3 wins now of 10 in a row, let's keep it going gentlemen!
