Welcome, Crazy Pills!

Ron Artest... a Houston Rocket?

If the rumors are correct, that means we get a 20+ ppg player who is also a former DPOY to match up with Yao, Shane, Scola and Battier. All this because we sneakily drafted/acquired a rookie who put up 40 in a summer league game. I don't think one single meaningless game has ever had such a profound potential impact on the future of our franchise.

This. Is. Awesome.

The only problem is that Ron and Shane basically play the same position. And that position is not point guard. Which means we still have guys named "Rafer" and "Luther Head" on our roster. And not Bobby Jackson. Which means we don't have a point guard. Hmmmmm... awww, the hell with it. Daryl Morey once again showed tonight why he's a genius!! He'll figure something out.

Damn, I am for the first time this offseason really (really) excited for basketball season again! I can't wait to face Utah again now. Just try those bully tactics with Crazy Pills to deal with. It won't work like it did against Tracy. The other added bonus is when T-Mac starts to whine and moan, we are going to have a locker room enforcer to tell him to man up and quit being an Initech employee.

Again - This. Is. Awesome.

We now welcome to the family a Tru Warier.

Great news. Lil' Dickie Justice hates the trade, so we know we're in business. Just ask the '05 Astros and Mario Williams. Bear in mind that Justice actually likes the Randy Wolf trade and thinks Ed Wade is a good GM. I think he's spent the last couple years being wrong on purpose to see if he can get fired.

I think we may end up missing Greene, but it was a move that makes a lot of sense.

Artest makes the Rockets a matchup nightmare. How do you guard T-Mac, Yao, Artest, Scolandry and Barry? How? Double teaming won't work, they can all burn you. Artest makes it very tough for PF to abuse Yao, too. If we can see that lineup a lot it's going to be a fun season.

Or how do you score on: Tmac, Battier, Artest, Dorsey, Alston (assuming a team without a real center, which is practically all of them (I know you hate Rafer, but he plays great D)).

The Rockets should be capable of even crazier lockdown defense with Artest on the court, and the scoring won't let up at all. He loves Adelman, and is in a contract year, so I don't think Artest's going to be a problem.

Wow, I didn't think we'd get Artest without having to give up Shane Battier, but this works for me. Mind you, I think Artest has fallen off defensively, but at least now we have a dependable third scorer.

Umm, Xiane, who the #(@& is this "Scolandry" fellow you speak of?

I can only assume you are referring to Luis Landry.

Fran Blinebury doesn't write this blog, so I suggest you never, ever use the moniker "Scolandry" ever again. Because it's stupid, you see.

Scolandry is better than Luis Landry. I know you're sad you didn't come up with it yourself.

Luis Landry is far superior to Scolandry. And we came up with it 3 weeks before Fran.

its beauty is in the simplicity.

Scolandry is just complicated to be complicated. No thank you

Fewer syllables and Scolandry just rolls right off the tongue.

Anyone that uses the term Scolandry will not be allowed in the clubhouse or to wear the Chewbaca mask.

How about Carl Scola?

Carl Scola sounds like an HEB brand soft drink. Scolandry reminds me of a norse warrior, or mythical beast.

Scolandry sounds like chewing tobacco... again, no thanks.

I didn't know you felt so strongly about the Landry/Scola conjoining. How about LaScola? Lanola?Carluis? Scodry?

I personally think they all sound sort of dumb, including yours, but I'll respect your wishes in the matter.

Here are the two words I hope will characterize the Rockets season more than any player name fusion: No injuries.

haha... it's okay xiane. Lee came up with the "Luis Landry" name - and it was beautiful in its simplicity and effectivness. Not to mention it had an alliterative effect. Then Fran does his Frankensteining of "Scolandry" like 3 weeks later. Just sad.
