Finally - some good news! (Rookie Team)

Resident badass Luis Scola can now add another line to his resume:

First Team All-Rookie Team (2008).

Yup, the Rockets finally put someone on the first team for something!

Not to be out-done, Carl Landry would also like you to know that he made the 2nd team.

As I've been saying all year, our rookies are better than your rookies!

MVP/ROY blogger rankings for this fortnight

Ryan over at Hornets247 was kind enough to host the most recent round of Blogger MVP/ROY rankings. For some reason Lee and I got invited to participate yet again. Here you can find the results... and a couple of our comments got posted. Winning 22 in a row apparently gives you leverage to say cool things and have people repeat them to a larger audience!

T-Mac and Scola are on the list... with Carl Landry for some reason not even cracking the top 5. You all know we voted for him. We wanted to vote for Yao, too, but we didn't want to come across as completely insane homers.

The other awesome part is that Ryan provoked some Jazz fans by repeating what is obvious: that for as good as Deron Williams is - Chris Paul is just better. I quite enjoy making fun of the Jazz. Especially when you know their fans will get annoyed by it.

And the beat goes on!

"You're sixteen... you're beautiful... and you're mine!"

Who would have thought that Ringo freakin' Starr would be the person to best sum up the Rockets' winning streak -- which is now SIXTEEN (16)!!!

Rockets beat Pacers. Win by 18 points and the Pacers were never really in the game once the first quarter ended. That's seven in a row where we've beaten down the opposition by double figures. That's some imposing stuff there! Almost as if Yao's presence never really left.

Chuck Hayes - of all people - chipped in with 9 points and 11 rebounds. If you ever wondered why Luis Scola is now starting, Chuck's 9 points is a SEASON HIGH. Yes, it's true, look it up.

Meanwhile, Luis Landry had another 26 points and 14 rebounds. It's becoming routine.

The Sports Guy even took time out of his Celtics/Patriots/Red Sox schedule to notice that Carl Landry is seriously kicking ass all over the NBA. Which is awesome and yet... we're the ones who started the bandwagon. Simmons can't just take over. And all this time I thought Simmons was too busy fluffing Tom Brady, KG and David Ortiz to ever pay attention to the Rockets. I guess no one is able to ignore 16 game winning streaks.

I just like saying that - 16 game winning streak.

It's 17 as of tonight if we can take care of business.

Luis Scola now officially a badass

We apologize greatly for not seeing this news when it was first announced, but:

LUIS SCOLA NAMED WESTERN CONFERENCE T-MOBILE ROOKIE OF THE MONTH FOR FEBRUARY!!!!!!!

It's true... it's like official and everything.

That's what you get when your team makes the entire NBA its collective bitch for an entire month. Rockets go 13-0 in February... which just so happened to coincide with Scola being named a starter. Hmmmmm...

Yup, it's official. Luis Scola is a complete and total badass.
